Foyle Cycling Club (FCC) is organizing the annual ladies cycle on Sunday 23rd September 2018 to foster the two-wheeled sport of cycling among women and to raise much needed funds for Foyle Hospice.
Last year over 100 ladies took part and we now hope to build on that for this year’s sportive which brings together beginners and the more seasoned cyclists. By getting involved women can enjoy an exciting new challenge, meet new people, and do something different with colleagues, friends or family.
This year FCC is delighted to introduce a ‘Couch to 50K (35mile)’ Programme. As part of the lead up to this year’s cycle Foyle Cycle Club will host weekly training sessions for ladies of all abilities to help them prepare for the event. So whether you have never been on a bike before or you just want to improve your skills and distance, come along on Thursday 19th July 2018 to Foyle Hospice at 07:00pm for our information session.
On Sunday 23rd September 2018 there will be a choice of three different routes.
Route 1, 20miles on cycle path with a difficulty rating of ‘Easy’
Route 2, 25miles on Road with a difficulty rating of ‘Moderate’
Route 3, 50miles on road.
The Cycle will leave from the Hospice at 10:00am, with sign in/registration commencing at 08.30am. All the Ladies will be greeted upon their return to the Foyle Hospice with a much needed cuppa & some delicious Home baked goodies.
